Pattern Design | Toronto  - 2006

This series of patterns designed for a number of final products in different media and materials, is a result of combining various hand-drawn and digital techniques. Some are the result of free-hand drawings or a play with ink daubs spread with rollers across paper. The resulting designs have then been scanned and partially selected to create repeat patterns using various pattern design techniques and have been painted in Adobe Photoshop. In other pieces, elements of classical paintings from Persian sources has been selected, scanned and altered by use of different filters in Photoshop. The altered motif has then been used in various color schemes and pattern design techniques to render the resulting artwork.
